2010 American Silver Eagle
The American Silver Eagle has been issued by the United States Mint each year since 1986. Each coin contains one ounce of .999 fine silver with the weight, content, and purity guaranteed by the federal government. The 2010 Silver Eagles represent the latest release of the bullion coin series.

Heavy demand for physical precious metals helped propel sales of the American Silver Eagle bullion coins to two consecutive years of new record highs. The demand has showed no signs of stopping this year, with sales on pace for record breaking annual total. This is despite the fact that the United States Mint continues to use an allocation program, which rations the available supply amongst authorized purchasers.
In addition to the bullion version of the coin, in past years the United States Mint has issued collectible proof and uncirculated versions of the coins. Although these collector coins were not issued for 2009, collectors are hopeful that they will be issued for the 2010 Silver Eagle. The resolution of the situation will depend on the Mint's ability to satisfy demand for the bullion coins.
